‘Tis the season to decorate the School of Law Common Room!

Yesterday we decorated the School of Law’s Common Room ready for Christmas! We had festive music playing, various arts and crafts going on and of course, plenty of Christmas treats! It was great to see students and staff come together to spread some festive cheer.

Students worked together as a team to decorate the Christmas tree – starting with the twinkly lights and tinsel, before adding the baubles. Then, they moved on to making some additional decorations.

We made paper snowflakes, paper stars, paper chains and Christmas words out of Scrabble pieces. Staff and students talked about how they are finding the Autumn Term, their favourite Christmas tunes and more! And of course, this was all done whilst chomping down on some yummy mince pies.

Student Experience Director Colin Moore, along with a few incredibly helpful students, decorated the Common Room itself. Hanging Christmas lights, baubles, bells, and the snowflake projector around the corners of the room! Some of our postgraduate students made a gigantic paper chain, which we all signed before it took pride of place strung along the entire length of the ceiling of the Common Room.

Next time you’re around in the School of Law, make sure you go and check out our beautifully decorated Common Room! The decorations will be staying up until the end of term. If you missed our Christmas social, don’t worry we have plenty of plans for events next term! Just watch out for future socials being advertised via your Essex inbox and on our Facebook and Twitter.
