Bev Jackson, Director of Student Development set up a summer challenge where students participated in a series of different activities over 6 weeks.
The Law Summer Challenge 2020 ran from 21 July – 31 August. It was designed to prepare students for the upcoming academic year.
Students were asked to complete 3 tasks each week and upload photos or an account of what they had achieved to the Moodle forum.
These tasks consisted of:
Something that helps you get ahead with your studies and prepares you for October and the next academic year. Students were asked to watch relevant TED Talks, get involved with extra curricular activities and get organised for next year.
Something that helps you get ahead with your career and future plans – building your skills for the workplace. – These tasks ranged from creating a professional Linkedin account, participating in virtual internships and researching potential employment opportunities.
Something that’s fun – Such activities like meditation sessions, sharing your favourite photo from university and watching law related TV programmes.
Congratulations to Konstantina Karamintzou, Temiloluwa Olorunleke, Paige Houston and Omodolapo Ayofemi for being our Law Summer Challenge winners!
And thank you to all the students who participated in this challenge – it was a great success!
